I have a few blogs ready for publication, including a video which is in the editing phase. Also, my fourth novel After Revelation is gaining shape, though I don’t have a release date yet.
All of these items require time and effort to make, and to be perfectly honest, I’m tired of giving away too much for free. Why? Because I don’t feel that I have an incentive.
Relying on meeting certain metrics to begin monetizing with ads, donations, VIP content, etc., might not happen. Ever. And while trying to reach those unpredictable goals, I’m saying to myself: “if I don’t get there, everything I have done will be in vain, and I refuse to go broke.”
A long time ago, a stranger once told me: “if you don’t value your work, nobody will.” The fact is I do value my work, otherwise I wouldn’t make it available. At the same time, aren’t I entitled to get something back other than a Like or Share?
Not all my content will be placed behind a paywall, only those containing the most valuable information, especially the hardest ones to write or make in some fashion. My following blog posts will be available at a low-cost monthly/annual subscription.
Why? Because, in writing, I can be unapologetically honest. I can also provide helpful tips about a number of things people might need concerning writing and creativity, and share things I’m not comfortable leaving in the public sphere.
For example, I have three articles scheduled for posting. One is titled “Turning 40,” about my recent battles with midlife crisis and several harsh truths I have learned while barrelling towards senility. Also, “The Worst Writer I Have Known,” a true story about one of the most pathetic individuals walking this Earth. Lastly, “Writer’s Block Is Horse Dung.”
My website already has a number of blog posts available for free if you want to know how I write, like: Losing Someone, The Greatest Sin of Puerto Ricans, and Lessons While Getting Older; and a short story: Tragedy of an Overthinker.
As for the gratuitous content, my videos have reached more people around the world, and I shall keep posting vlogs, travel content, current happenings—anything I can share on my YouTube (and probably Instagram) channel.
This website is my digital home, and it is time to turn it into my central business hub. It is where all my work and platforms are linked. And if anybody wants to know who I am, without hacking my private information or my phone, this is the place to go.
I’m aware I need to deliver consistently. I doubt this will be much of a problem since I enjoy writing and sharing knowledge, my favorite niche. This time, I will open up about subjects I feared discussing.
With a monthly or annual subscription, you will help me financially to continue making content in the visual and written form. Donations will be welcomed too. That aid will not be overlooked. Stay tuned for further details.
