Update on “Who Am I?” | Nov. 2024

Hello, dear follower. I have taken a momentary hiatus from writing for several reasons. Among them, it is sometimes necessary to take a break and clear one’s thoughts. When the mind gets too caught up in the minor details, the endless research, the plot twists, the proofreading, etc., you lose sight of the big picture.

My goal is to continue writing Who Am I?, but I think I’m going to step back from publishing new chapters on my website. My original plan included posting the following ones for a three-dollar lifetime fee until I would finish the manuscript. To be honest, I was always on the fence about pursuing that strategy.

Why make you pay for something that isn’t finished? Also, what if something happens to me, like an accident, death, or worse… alien abduction? You won’t learn what happens to Detective Winters and his serial killer. If it were me, as a faithful reader eagerly expecting a new chapter, it would mean more than an existential crisis. I would join an extremist group.

Although I have stated that I know where the story is going, it is possible that midway, or nearing the end while still writing, I notice, to my catastrophic dismay, that I forgot to include something somewhere in the manuscript for the entire story to make sense. I wouldn’t want to make you read the whole book from the beginning because of a serious fuck-up or an honest mistake.

Other authors have posted their work-in-progress novels on their websites whether for a fee or for free. I could go the free-chapters route, but I’d like to take my time scribing and not have to worry about meeting deadlines. The good news is that I’m several chapters ahead of the fourth (the last one published), and I look forward to finishing it some time next year.

That doesn’t mean I’m going away until I’m done writing it!

I’m developing short videos that will show the writing process of Who Am I? No, you won’t see how I shower or clip my nails. As an avid anti-influencer, I shall not sacrifice my convictions. However, there is plenty everyone can learn about the process, especially the fact that there is very little reward in this endeavor, but the personal satisfactions are enormous.

Those videos will be available on my YouTube channel, and perhaps my Instagram. I will post the announcement in this blog nonetheless. Stay in touch and thank you for your time!
